Audrey and Susannah were placed into Medomsley Edge Children's Home sometime in the 1930's as their Grandfather Richard Thomas Oliver was ill and unable to care for them any longer.
Richard Thomas Oliver born 23 June 1865 Wigan Lancashire died 19 March 1940 at Highfield Hyton Road Sunderland. Cause of death Carcinoma of the Stomach.
